Frequently asked questions

Questions, answered

A few of the things people often wonder before taking the first step.

I don’t know where to start. Which workshop is right for me?+

If you’re unsure, you’re not alone. Many people simply know they want to understand themselves better but aren’t sure which workshop best fits their situation.

“Why Am I Like This?” is our flagship workshop and a great place to begin. From there, you may choose to explore more specialised workshops such as burnout, relationships or perimenopause.

If you’d like some guidance, feel free to get in touch. I’d be happy to help you find the right fit.

Do I need to be in counselling before attending a workshop?+

Not at all.

Many people attend a workshop simply because they’re curious to learn more about themselves, while others use workshops alongside counselling to deepen their understanding.

Everyone is welcome.

Are your workshops educational or therapeutic?+

They are educational workshops informed by psychotherapy and current psychological research.

You’ll gain practical knowledge, opportunities for personal reflection and evidence-based strategies that you can apply in everyday life. While many people find the experience personally meaningful, workshops are not a substitute for individual therapy.

I don’t have a mental health diagnosis. Are these workshops still for me?+

Absolutely.

You don’t need a diagnosis to benefit from understanding yourself better.

Many people attend because they want to improve their relationships, manage stress more effectively, navigate life transitions or simply better understand why they think, feel and respond the way they do.

Will I have to share personal experiences in front of the group?+

Only if you choose to.

Your privacy and comfort are important. While workshops include opportunities for reflection and discussion, there is never any expectation that you share personal experiences.

Many people find simply listening and reflecting to be incredibly valuable.

What can I expect from a workshop?+

Every workshop combines practical education, reflection and discussion in a warm, supportive environment.

You’ll leave with:

  • A deeper understanding of yourself
  • Practical tools you can apply straight away
  • New ways of thinking about your experiences
  • Greater self-awareness and self-compassion
Are your workshops based on evidence?+

Yes.

My work draws on evidence-informed approaches including trauma-informed practice, nervous system education, attachment theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and contemporary psychological research.

Everything is translated into practical, everyday language that is easy to understand and apply.

Do you offer workshops for workplaces and organisations?+

Yes.

I partner with businesses, schools, health services and community organisations to deliver engaging workshops tailored to the needs of their teams and communities.

Topics can be adapted to suit your audience and objectives.

Where are workshops held?+

Workshops are offered in Orange and throughout regional New South Wales, with opportunities for interstate delivery and online programs as they become available.

Check the Workshops page or contact me for upcoming dates.

Do you offer individual counselling?+

Yes.

In addition to workshops, I offer individual counselling for adults seeking greater self-understanding, support through life’s challenges and practical strategies for creating meaningful change.

I’m nervous about attending on my own.+

You’re not the only one.

Many people come to workshops on their own, and it’s completely normal to feel a little apprehensive beforehand. My aim is to create a welcoming, inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable, respected and able to participate at their own pace.

What if I’m not ready?+

That’s okay too.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before taking the first step.

Sometimes the beginning is simply becoming curious.

And curiosity is often where meaningful change begins.

Still have questions?

You don’t need to know exactly what you need before reaching out.

Sometimes all you know is that something doesn’t quite make sense, that you’re feeling stuck, or that you’re ready for things to feel different. That’s enough. Whether you’re considering counselling, wondering which workshop is right for you, or simply have a question, I’d be happy to help.

Every conversation starts with curiosity, and sometimes that first conversation is the beginning of understanding yourself differently.
